Job description

The Management Information Systems Branch (MISB) supports UNICOR's enterprise technology environment, including user support, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and business systems. As UNICOR continues to modernize its technology environment, the Service Desk Technician II will play a key role in supporting users, maintaining system performance, and ensuring timely resolution of technical issues., KeenLogic is seeking a Junior Network Administrator to support Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), a government corporation within the U.S. Department of Justice. The Junior Network Administrator serves as a member of the network operations team responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise network infrastructure.

Working under the direction of senior network personnel, this position supports the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network devices and connectivity services across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in networking concepts, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting enterprise IT environments., + Assist with the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure and connectivity services.

  • Support the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, wireless devices, and other network equipment.

  • Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues affecting users, systems, applications, and infrastructure components.

  • Support LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and remote access technologies across the enterprise environment.

  • Assist with administration of DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and network access controls.

  • Collaborate with senior network administrators and infrastructure teams to resolve technical issues and support operational requirements.

  • Perform routine network maintenance activities, including hardware replacements, upgrades, firmware updates, and configuration changes.

  • Assist with documenting network configurations, diagrams, inventories, and operational procedures.

  • Support user account administration and connectivity-related requests within Microsoft-based environments.

  • Provide technical support to end users experiencing network-related issues and assist with problem resolution.

  • Participate in network infrastructure projects, system deployments, and technology modernization initiatives.

  • Support network security efforts by assisting with compliance activities, vulnerability remediation, and implementation of approved security controls.

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, service requests, and network-related activities.

  • Travel to designated locations as required to support network installations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting efforts, and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of networking experience

  • CompTIA Network+ certification

  • Can be used to substitute for 1 years of network experience
