Job description

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data infrastructure as well as tidy healthcare data products supporting advanced analytics and healthcare operations. The role is required to be collaborative, curious, and detail-oriented and innovates using future-proofing principles in software architecture., * Partner with end users and product team to translate business and user requirements into technical solutions using system thinking principles, ensuring performance, scalability, maintainability, security, and user experience

  • Complete tasks using and lead by example with:
  • Clean, well-documented, quality and efficient ETL code
  • Well-architected scalable data models and code that scales via rules engine designs
  • Debugging and troubleshooting complex data issues and provide timely solutions
  • Contribution to improvement of DevOps and ProdOps with automation of builds, testing, deployment and monitoring
  • Peer code reviews, mentoring and training junior team members
  • Build scaled jobs and data integration solutions across platform types with best practice in security and network engineering
  • Train other developers and stakeholders in adoption of new solutions
  • Adherence to agile and scrum processes.
  • Continuously improve technical skills and stay current with emerging technologies, integrating these into the platform and/or development processes to keep enhancing developer productivity and capabilities of the system
  • Employees will be required to perform other job-related assignments as requested.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Version control systems?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of data modeling and solution design experience in healthcare/health insurance domain
  • 5+ years of experience working in an enterprise software environment in a regulated industry (example: healthcare, financial services)
  • 5+ years of experience working with clinical and claims data, including familiarity with compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2), EMR integrations, care delivery, and platforms supporting patients and providers
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise big data platform infrastructure development
  • Most recent role must have been in HCLS data engineering space
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of modern big data processing practices, architectures, and tools, including cloud security
  • Expert Python and SQL
  • Databricks (expert preferred)
  • Data loading solution in conjunction with a Spark-based data platform
  • Cloud architecture and security
  • DevOps and release engineering
  • Technical diagramming (Draw.io/Lucid)
  • Healthcare data modeling and ETL development
  • Experience using AI tools to augment and force multiply code development
  • Application of SDLC, DevOps, version control, and code deployment best practices
  • Application of agile software engineering principles, plus use of JIRA/ADO/ServiceNow or similar
  • Strong critical thinking ability
  • Hands on development experience with DBT preferred
  • RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and OLTP basics preferred
  • API development and integration preferred
  • Distributed compute optimization preferred
  • Hands on knowledge of Microsoft ADF preferred
  • Terraform (IaC) experience preferred
  • Working experience with AthenaOne EHR configuration, API integrations preferred
  • Deep understanding of claims data, provider attribution, actuarial services, Medicare/Medicaid data and programs, risk adjustment, value-based care models preferred

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or another engineering discipline
  • Prior experience working with AthenaOne EHR configuration, API integrations
  • Previous role as cloud solutions architect
  • AWS/Azure cloud architecture certifications
