Job description
PioneerTech is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a proposed DLA application sustainment and modernization effort. The candidate will support administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, performance tuning, vulnerability management, backups, user/account administration, and sustainment of a web-enabled application environment supporting mission-critical technical data., * Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links.
- Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.
- Provides end user training.
- Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
- Will be required to provide both local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location. Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications.
- Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance.
- Performs vulnerability management.
- Highly privileged users who are responsible for the administrative functions of the system.
- Ensures that the system is available to its authorized users upon demand, and that it operates securely and efficiently.
Primary responsibilities also include:
- Set up (provision) accounts for authorized users.
- Manage the security functions of the system.
- Perform backups as required and verify that backups are successful.
- Review system logs and notify the ISSM of any unusual system activities detected.
- Ensure users do not perform actions that could degrade system security.
- Remove accounts and privileges from the system for users who have left the organization, or whose privileges have been revoked due to disciplinary actions.
- Disable inactive accounts.
- Perform software installations as needed.
- Configure and maintain Operating System (O/S)parameters
Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday within Core Hours of 07:00 - 17:00
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vulnerability management?, * Seven (7) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, six of which are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, four of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software
- Hands-on experience with Drupal, JBoss, and Solr
- Experience administering Linux-based application environments, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Experience supporting web application hosting, application security, backups, patching, logging, and performance monitoring
- Experience with database-connected application environments, including Oracle and/or MariaDB
- Ability to support Dev/Test, Stage, and Production environments
- Experience performing vulnerability management, STIG remediation, system monitoring, and operational issue resolution
- Ability to support documentation, configuration management, change control, and production release activities.
Having following skills is a PLUS
- Prior DLA, DoD, or Federal application sustainment experience
- Experience with Azure Government, CAC-enabled applications, RMF, ACAS, STIGs, and production system availability reporting
