Job description

Windows and VMWare

Windows

Your initial focus will be on the daily management and monitoring of the current environment with a strong focus on maximizing and ensuring efficiency across the infrastructure. You will also be required to support new and innovative projects as they arise involving plenty of internal stakeholder exposure.

You will;

Manage and administer MS SCCM Manage VMware ESXi infrastructure Take an active role in windows server patch management on a rota basis Take an active role in Disaster Recovery testing (SRM) Manage domain controllers and participate in consolidation of domain controllers Monitor and ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of the LeasePlan network and systems Identify opportunities for improvements to current technologies Investigate ways to automate manual tasks Contribute to project work relating to the digital transformation and cloud/data centre migrations Develop and maintain documentation, procedures and standards Administer and update our knowledge sharing forums for relevant topics Provide level 2/3 support, and troubleshoot issues to resolution Plan and complete system upgrades as required Have the ability to coordinate tasks and resources in order to deliver projects and resolve issues, Design, implement, and maintain VMware environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex VMware infrastructure issues. Monitor system performance and ensure VMware environments are running optimally. Collaborate with IT teams to develop and deploy virtualization strategies. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and updates. Stay updated with the latest VMware technologies and best practices. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior VMware engineers. Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization.

Requirements

Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, 8+ years' experience in a similar administration/support role 8+ years' experience of working with patch management tools (SCCM, WSUS) 8+ years' experience of managing VMware environments including SRM PowerShell scripting experience Windows Server Operating Systems (2003-2022) Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP for multiple Windows domains Experience of administering MS Exchange and messaging Ability to work on own initiative and within a team both face-to-face and virtually Proven analytical and problem resolution skills with the ability to work under pressure Good time management skills and the ability to multi-task while working to a deadline in a fast-paced working environment Ability to prioritize tasks Strong communication skills both written and oral Skill Requirements

Experience of 3 rd party patching tools such as Patch My PC Knowledge of monitoring tools such as DataDog, Zabbix, VMware vROps Knowledge of AWS and SSM Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure service stacks including Azure AD Be familiar with ITIL and project management methodologies Be familiar with Service Desk ticketing (Atlassian Jira Service Management)

BSc Computer Science or similar discipline

Qualifications - Desirable

Microsoft Certifications (MCITP, MCSD, MCSA, MCSE) Linux certification, preferably RHEL Any relevant Cloud Certifications ITIL v4 Foundation Certification Other Requirements

VMWARE Engineer, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in managing VMware environments. Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and other VMware products. Experience with SAN and NAS storage solutions. Familiarity with network and security concepts in virtualized environments. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher certification preferred.
