Job description

We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our chemical manufacturing operations team as an individual contributor. This new role is focused on driving long-term asset reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and strengthening equipment performance across a complex, continuous or batch chemical production environment. The schedule for this role will typically be Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week with flexibility for off-shift hours as business needs require. This position will work onsite, there is no remote work option for this role. There is no travel required for this role.

A key priority of this position is the leadership and execution of a 3-year reliability improvement plan, aimed at improving asset integrity, optimizing maintenance strategies, and building a sustainable reliability culture across the site., * Lead execution of a 3-year reliability improvement strategy for plant-wide assets and systems

  • Identify and eliminate chronic equipment failures using structured reliability tools (RCFA, FMEA, Weibull analysis, etc.)
  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical chemical process equipment
  • Analyze equipment performance data and reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, etc.)
  • Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to improve equipment uptime and process stability
  • Support root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions
  • Evaluate and improve reliability of rotating and fixed equipment including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems
  • Support turnaround and outage planning with reliability-focused improvements
  • Develop and maintain asset strategies and life-cycle management plans
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements in all reliability efforts

Requirements

Do you have experience in Equipment malfunction response?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in engineering?, * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of reliability focused engineering experience in chemical manufacturing or heavy process industries
  • Strong understanding of equipment reliability principles in process manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance systems and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, * Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification strongly preferred
  • Experience developing or executing site-wide reliability improvement programs
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability data analysis tools
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis, etc.)
  • Experience in continuous or batch chemical processing environments, * Bachelor's (Required)
