Job description

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a dynamic cross-functional development team. In this role, you will contribute to a web-based, full-stack Agile environment, focusing on the development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software for both enhancements and new product features.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new product features.

  • Create and maintain unit tests to ensure high-quality code delivery.

  • Produce clear software documentation for both internal stakeholders and end users.

Requirements

  • 2-7 years of relevant programming experience.

  • Expert software development experience in Java, C, and C++.

  • Experience with multi-threaded or real-time applications.

  • Experience coding in a Kubernetes environment.

  • Experience with Jira and QuestDB.

  • General knowledge with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with RESTful services.

  • Basic understanding of web-based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo.

  • General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure.

  • Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with QuestDB.

  • Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools.

  • Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.

  • Secure software development experience and implementation of best practices.

  • Experience with Satellite Command and Control systems.

Benefits & conditions

The role requires working onsite for 2 days a week in Lanham, with a future move to College Park. This provides an exciting opportunity to work with stable programs for satellites that have been operational for over 20 years, as well as newer satellite technologies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lanham, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
