We're looking for a go-to problem solver who enjoys helping people and keeping technology running smoothly. As an IT Support Specialist, you'll be the friendly face (or voice) of IT-jumping in to troubleshoot issues, maintain equipment, and support a wide range of systems across the organization. This role is perfect for someone who likes variety, isn't afraid to get hands-on, and takes pride in turning "something's not working" into "you're all set." Highlights of your role:
- Serve as a key member of the IT helpdesk-responding to support requests, troubleshooting issues, and keeping things moving for our users
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across computers, printers, scanners, and other devices
- Help maintain and support network infrastructure, including cabling, phones/voicemail systems, and conferencing/AV setups
- Roll up your sleeves for hands-on work like installing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment
- Research and test new tools or solutions that could improve the user experience or team efficiency
- Support and guide end-users-whether it's fixing an issue or helping them feel more confident using technology
- Create and update documentation so knowledge is shared and the team stays aligned
- Pitch in on projects and ideas that improve systems, reduce costs, or streamline how we work
- Participate in an on-call rotation with the team to help support critical needs
Requirements
Do you have experience in Research?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate degree in IT, networking, or a related field-or equivalent hands-on experience
- Solid understanding of Windows-based systems; familiarity with Active Directory, Entra or InTune is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general end-user support
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (you don't need to be a network engineer, but you're comfortable troubleshooting)
- A problem-solving mindset and willingness to dig in and figure things out
- Strong communication skills-you can explain technical issues in a way that makes sense to non-technical users
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a team, * This role may involve accessing equipment in ceilings or elevated spaces-training on scissor/boom lifts will be provided (or required)
