Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. We are looking for a senior data scientist to work on financial data and analytics for Canva's Finance team. Where and How You Can Work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, with a hub in San?Francisco focused on US operations.

We offer flexibility in how and where you work, trusting Canva-auts to choose the balance that empowers them and their teams. What You'll Be Doing

At the moment, this role focuses on:

  • Audit Readiness: Establish automated, traceable and immutable revenue data pipelines that meet external audit standards.
  • Operational Efficiency: Reduce manual reconciliation effort through automation and anomaly detection.
  • Data Integrity: Improve accuracy and completeness of revenue data within the finance data warehouse across payment gateways and billing service data domains.
  • Reporting and Communication: Develop compelling reports, dashboards and presentations that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with various stakeholders to continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of data collection and preparation.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with at least one data analysis language (eg SQL, Python, R).
  • Strong experience in data analysis (intermediate-advanced level of Excel, Alteryx Certified, Tableau Prep, Knime).
  • Experience using visualization and BI tools (eg Mode, Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy, PowerBI).
  • Strong soft skills and personal qualities: attention to accuracy, interpreting data faithfully, speaking persuasively, writing concisely and clearly.
  • A grounding in mathematics or statistics and a bachelor's degree in a STEM area.
  • Experience working in a tech company and familiarity with the concepts particular to our industry such as growth accounting, product funnels and designing analytic events.
