Job description
The consultant will support the administration and evolution of a business-critical enterprise knowledge management platform based on Atlassian Confluence Data Center.
The mission involves ensuring the stability, security, and maintainability of the current platform, while preparing and enabling a large-scale migration of wiki content towards a future target platform.
The environment is complex, with high requirements in terms of data integrity, permissions management, and content governance., 3.1 Platform Administration & Maintenance (Run Activities)
- Administer and maintain the Confluence Data Center environment
- Ensure platform stability, performance, and security
- Manage and monitor spaces, page structures, permissions, attachments, and indexing
- Maintain backup and recovery processes
- Document configurations, procedures, and administrative actions
3.2 Wiki Analysis & Migration Preparation (Build Activities)
- Analyse the existing wiki structure and content organisation
- Clean, classify, and rationalise content (spaces, pages, labels, metadata)
- Identify and assess migration risks, including:
- Unsupported macros or plugins
- Broken links or inconsistent structures
- Obsolete or redundant content
- Confidentiality and access restrictions
- Define mapping between source and target platform structures (including permissions)
3.3 Migration Engineering & Automation
- Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and validation processes
- Develop repeatable scripts and automation tools using APIs and scripting languages
- Handle multiple data formats (XML, HTML, JSON exports, attachments)
- Produce automated validation and reconciliation reports
- Ensure data integrity and completeness during migration phases
Requirements
- Strong proven experience in Confluence Data Center administration
- Solid experience in enterprise wiki migration or large-scale content transformation projects
- Experience working in complex IT environments with high data governance requirements
4.2 Technical Skills (Mandatory)
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Confluence architecture and administration
- Spaces, page trees, permissions, attachments
- Macros, plugins, indexing, and backup mechanisms
- Strong experience with REST APIs and automation scripting
- Ability to work with data extraction and transformation processes (XML, HTML, JSON)
- Experience with SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash or equivalent)
4.3 Technical Skills (Preferred / Nice-to-Have)
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
- Advanced proficiency in Python scripting
