Job description
- Ensure seamless collaboration between hardware and software components, driving integration activities throughout the entire lifecycle of the instrument.
- Independently or with minimal support, plan, execute, and document integration activities such as feasibility studies, testing and troubleshooting.
- Develop and verify test methods for instrument testing, maintain and execute complex test cases, and ensure formal testing of instrument functionality.
- Support and execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis for instrument issues.
- Apply statistical methods and data analysis using software tools to evaluate test results, identify trends and correlations, interpret findings, and generate reports that inform decision-making
- Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration, bringing fresh ideas to the table, encouraging innovation, and supporting continuous improvement.
Requirements
The Perfect Candidate: holds a technical/scientific background (B.Sc. or completed apprenticeship) backed by 1-3 years of laboratory experience, including vocational training. They bring foundational expertise in systems engineering-specifically understanding the interplay between mechanics, electronics, and software in instrument development-alongside strong proficiency in statistical data analysis. Fluency in English and a solid command of German, combined with exposure to medical device development or tools like Python, JMP, and Azure DevOps, make them a perfect fit., * Apprenticeship as a Chemical Laboratory Technician/ Biotechnologist, or a B.Sc. degree (or higher) in a relevant technical or scientific field, combined with strong analytical thinking skills.
- 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment (experience gained during an apprenticeship or vocational training is fully credited)
- Foundational knowledge of systems engineering and understanding of interactions between mechanical, electronic, and software components in instrument development.
- Proficiency in intermediate to advanced statistical methods and software tools for data analysis, evaluation, and interpretation.
- Fluent English and German is a Plus
Nice to Haves:
- Initial professional experience in the field of medical device development is an advantage
- Knowledge of the following tools and IT systems is an advantage but not mandatory: Python, JMP, Azure DevOps, Retina
