Job description
Seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Architect to support and administer the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. This role focuses on Teradata platform administration, performance tuning, security, upgrades, disaster recovery, and enterprise-level data warehousing support for state government systems., * Administer and support EDW platforms across Production, Test, and DR environments.
- Plan, implement, and maintain EDW architecture and platform services.
- Monitor system performance and resolve performance and scalability issues.
- Coordinate Teradata upgrades, patching, and vendor release management.
- Provide guidance on OS-level configuration, security, and platform optimization.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution strategies.
- Manage workload optimization, resource allocation, and system health monitoring.
- Collaborate with vendors, DBAs, and enterprise technical teams.
- Support ETL processes and enterprise analytics/data warehousing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with security and federal standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, IRS 1075).
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with Teradata database administration and architecture.
- Experience with:
- Teradata upgrades, provisioning, and maintenance
- Scripting (BASH, Perl, Python, Glink)
- Teradata Viewpoint and TTU tools
- PSIM monitoring and system health management
- Workload management and performance tuning
- Backup and recovery processes
- ETL and data warehousing concepts
- Strong Unix/Linux administration experience.
- Experience in performance optimization and resource management.
- Knowledge of cloud fundamentals (preferably Microsoft Azure).
- Experience with security, audits, and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, IRS 1075, etc.).
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing and analytics systems.
- Experience working in large-scale government or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts.
- Experience coordinating with vendors on upgrades and production support activities.
