Shape what's next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what's next for your engineering career., As a Tactical Mission Network Cloud / Systems engineer you will work in PaaS, DevOps, Security, and IaaS operations in order to spread knowledge and practices. All in support of the Government Program Office's global cloud and platform services environments. Responsible for the engineering and life-cycle management of, mostly cloud-based, platforms to attain a high degree of reliability and security., * Responsible for Container Orchestration: Must have Expert-level understanding of Kubernetes for deploying and managing cntainerized applications
Requirements
- Proven ability to architect, implement, and manage cloud solutions on the Azure platform. Experience with relevant services like Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and Security
- Deep knowledge of firewall implementation (Palo Alto, Cisco) and VPN solutions (Cloudflare, OpenVPN). Ability to configure and maintain secure network infrastructure, including traffic obfuscation techniques.
- Operating System Mastery: Extensive experience administering both Linux and Windows environments, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Configuration Management: Strong understanding of tools like Ansible, Puppet Master, and scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automating system configuration and deployments.
- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC), enabling efficient code delivery and infrastructure management
- CDS Management: Hands-on experience managing core components of the TMN-T infrastructure: TMS, HSG, TGS, Diodes (FDDs).
- EUD Configuration Management: Expertise in configuring and deploying devices (phones, laptops, tablets) using tools like Mantle Mobile and EFota.
- Strong understanding of configuration profile management best practices. Mobile Device Management (MDM): Experience with Airwatch and WatchTower for managing and securing mobile devices within the TMN-T environments.
- Location Services & Collaboration: Knowledge of BFT/TTL Service (Somewear), messaging applications, and real-time situational awareness tools like TAK/CoP (TAK Plug-in integration) and TAK FedHUB.
- Mapping & File Sharing: Ability to configure and manage map servers/services (Azure Maps/Pixia) and file sharing platforms (FTP, NextCloud).
- Real-Time Communications: Experience with RoIP / ICE / Vocality for voice communication solutions. Understanding of video distribution and transcoding technologies.
- VPS Management: Ability to provision, configure, and manage virtual private servers (VPS) within cloud environments.
- CloudRelay: Familiarity with the CloudRelay service and its integration with TMN-T systems.

Experience: 5+ years of related experience

Technical skills:

Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript.

Adept Shell/BASH scripter

Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, and S3.

2+ years of experience working with container orchestration technologies, specifically Kubernetes.

A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks along with an ability to offer and implement solutions to address these.

Experience creating dashboards to track service health that appeal to both technical and non-technical audiences preferably with Splunk.

Preferred requirements:

Experience working with identity and access management technologies and solutions.

Experience with Agile development methodologies; using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Any of the following: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or any Professional level of the above-mentioned certs where applicable

Benefits & conditions
The likely salary range for this position is $134,514 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
