Job description
We are seeking a Level 2 (L2) Linux System Engineer to support and maintain client Linux server environments. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, patching, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring overall system performance and stability.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role responsible for resolving escalated issues and maintaining secure, reliable infrastructure.
Requirements
· 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or technical consulting. · Hands-on experience supporting: o Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) o System administration (users, permissions, services, networking) o Patch management tools (yum/dnf/apt) · Experience with vulnerability remediation and security best practices. · Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across identity, virtualization, and storage layers. · Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to clients. · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field OR an Associate's degree (AA/AS) with equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Experience with VMware or Hyper-V · Familiarity with automation/scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible) · Experience with security and monitoring tools (e.g., Defender, Tenable) · Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, Security+) · Experience supporting multi-site or hybrid environments. · Prior consulting or professional services experience.
