Job description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Software Developer with a focus on UI development to join our team! You will function as a lead team member, working on state-of-the-art web-based technologies collaboratively with other scrum team members. You will be expected to provide input on requirement analysis, design decisions and help drive the direction of the projects on which you work.

This candidate will be a strong communicator, comfortable in front of clients explaining solutions in a manner that is appropriate for the current audience. Lastly, this individual is a driven self-starter who is ready to dive into the latest full-stack technologies and develop/modernize our product as well as support ongoing projects. Our ideal candidates will have experience as a Full Stack Java Developer - 60% front end 40% back end.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Understanding project scope and requirements and translating them to work items
  • Provide accurate estimates for project requirements and enhancement requests
  • Provide input to lead engineer on solutions, approaches, and designs to meet customer requirements
  • Prepare and document detailed specifications for junior developers
  • Develop technical designs in accordance with the requirements
  • Develop, implement, test and debug application web software using React, NX and other React ecosystem libraries
  • Develop, implement, test and debug application software primarily using Java/JEE and Spring technologies
  • Participate in SCRUM team activities as part of project delivery
  • Perform at an advanced technical level and demonstrate complete understanding of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities

Requirements

  • Experience with open-source Java libraries and frameworks
  • Experience using Web and API frameworks including React JS, Spring boot, REST, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, JSON
  • Experience in application/web server environment including Wildfly/JBOSS, Tomcat, IIS.
  • Experience using NX and working with React monorepos
  • Experience using Gradle
  • Experience with Atlassian products: Confluence, JIRA, and Bitbucket
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions and Copilot
  • Experience interfacing with back-end applications using RESTful web services, SOAP, message queues, JSON etc.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Desired experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, K8s)
  • Desired experience with Playwright and E2E testing of web applications
  • Desired experience with developing and employing custom coding agents for streamlined development
  • Desired experience in the Traffic Management or Intelligent Transportation domain

Education and Typical Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
    • An advanced degree may be preferred at this level.
    • 15+ years of related professional experience

Salary Range: $176,900.00 - $332,400.00
