Job description

The Government health and Safety Solutions Group is currently seeking a systems administrator/Release Manager to support a large contract in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. This is a fully remote position, all work must be completed while physically located within the United States. This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Candidates must be able to document US residency for at least the prior 3 years.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

Develop, analyze, review and rewrite programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt programs to new requirements.

Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Develop and implement software system testing procedures, programming and documentation and coordinate integration testing using Java/JEE, Tomcat, Apache, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Maven, Gradle, Apache Ant, Git, and SSL on Linux (Amazon Linux 2023 and SuSE SLES 15 preferred) and Windows Server platforms.

Convert project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into computer language.

In addition, the candidate should have hands on skills with installation and configuration of the following proxy/web/application servers: Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, AWS ELB ALB, AWS ELB NLB, and AWS Global Accelerator.

Candidate must be familiar with industry standards for software implementation process and operation process.

Experience with installation of COTs products.

Familiarity with integrating and use of open-source software and developing REST and SOAP web services.

Candidate will also be responsible for working with the Platform Support Team and tasked with supporting software development teams' deployment and change management processes

Requirements

Hands on skills with installation and configuration of the following reverse proxy servers will be required: Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, AWS ELB ALB, AWS ELB NLB, and AWS Global Accelerator. Development skills on Java/JEE Technologies, HTML, CSS, JSP, Spring Framework, Tomcat Application Server, Eclipse, SQL, JDBC, JavaScript, Maven, Gradle, Apache Ant, Git, and SSL certificates.

Familiarity with industry standards for software implementation process and operation process.

Experience with installation of COTs products.

Familiarity with integrating and use of open-source software and developing REST and SOAP web services.

Ability to troubleshoot application and networking issues.

Interface with the customer to address/answer questions relating to adherence to Software Change and Release Management process

Conduct or support meetings to review status of ongoing releases, approving and packaging new changes to a release, and reviewing status of IT projects, risks, operational readiness reviews

Ensure delivery of quality work products, including specifications, code, plans and procedures, in accordance with program requirements

of prior relevant experience.

Desired skills:

XML, Web Services, Apache CXF, Web application integration with Web Services, and Web application design.

Candidate should be familiar with single sign on technologies as well as Ansible continuous integration technologies.

Experience with AWS CI/CD tools and services

Experience with Git-based source code management tools (GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodeCommit)

Experience with Jira and Confluence

Experience designing and building Jenkins pipelines

Experience with CloudFormation and AWS engineering practices

Experience releasing software and coordinating and managing dependencies across software packages

Education:

BS degree and 6-8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 5+ years

  • Must not be related to anyone connected with the OCSS Program or ACF Staff
  • Must not have worked on the OCSS Program at any time in the past
