Job description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Secret Software Engineer II to support a mission critical missile warning program. This role supports the sustainment and modernization of mission-critical missile warning software systems, working across the full software development lifecycle including coding, testing, integration, and maintenance. The engineer will enhance an existing codebase through hands-on development, code analysis (including dead code analysis), and system improvements, while contributing to containerization efforts using Docker and CI/CD pipeline enhancements. Responsibilities also include writing and maintaining unit tests (e.g., JUnit), troubleshooting issues in a highly secure environment, and participating in Agile ceremonies such as standups and sprint planning.
Requirements
Active Secret Clearance
- 5+ years software engineering experience
- Hands on experience with containerizing using Docker
- Strong Java skills (must be able to read, understand, and work within existing code)
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Google Test, or similar
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Atlassian Bamboo, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with C++
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Prior experience in defense programs, missile warning systems, or similar environments

This is a full-time onsite SCIF position in Colorado Springs at Peterson SFB, offering a pay range of $120K-$140K.
