At Independent Software, as a Level 6 Systems Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, sustaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale dataflow architectures that support mission-critical analytics across secure cloud and distributed environments. You will apply systems engineering principles throughout the various phases of the systems life cycle: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
You will collaborate with Government representatives, engineering teams, operations personnel, analytics organizations, and senior stakeholders to develop scalable, resilient, and secure dataflow capabilities that enable mission success. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, quality, completeness, performance, and security of enterprise dataflow solutions and associated deliverables., * Design, integrate, and sustain enterprise dataflow architectures supporting mission-critical analytics.
- Engineer and maintain end-to-end dataflow solutions using technologies such as Niagarafiles, XKS, and related processing systems.
- Support and optimize Linux and Cloudera Hadoop environments, including cloud-hosted infrastructure and enterprise data repositories.
- Develop automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting solutions using scripting, logging, and operational monitoring tools.
- Lead technical efforts across engineering, operations, and analytics teams to deploy and sustain enterprise capabilities.
- Evaluate technical alternatives and recommend solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Ensure compliance with security, classification, and data governance requirements.
- Brief stakeholders and provide technical leadership on project status, risks, and solutions.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor supporting large-scale mission systems.
Requirements
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise dataflow architectures and distributed processing environments.
- Strong Linux system administration experience.
- Experience supporting Cloudera Hadoop environments and enterprise data repositories.
- Experience with dataflow technologies such as Niagarafiles, XKS, or similar platforms.
- Experience with automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, DevOps methodologies, and Agile practices.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security and data governance principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Education and Experience: Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline from an accredited college or university and twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience. OR
- High School Diploma or GED and twenty-four (24) years of Systems Engineering experience. OR
- Qualified Engineering Fields include, but are not limited to: Aeronautical, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems Engineering, and Engineering Management. OR
- Related disciplines include, but are not limited to: Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or similar technical fields.
Qualified Engineering Fields include, but are not limited to: Aeronautical, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems Engineering, and Engineering Management.
Related disciplines include, but are not limited to: Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or similar technical fields.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
