Job description

UST is searching for a Fullstack Developer who will develop and maintain user-facing features using React.js and TypeScript.

The opportunity:

  • Build reusable and scalable components using Hooks and modern React patterns

  • Ensure responsive, cross-browser, and accessible UI (WCAG 2.2 compliance)

  • Optimize frontend performance using techniques like code splitting and lazy loading

  • Use modern build tools like Webpack/Vite for efficient development

  • Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js

  • Implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless frontend-backend integration

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

Requirements

  • 9 plus years of experience with hands on experience in software/system design, development, testing and troubleshooting of complex fullstack programs

  • Strong expertise in React frontend and Node backend. This is mandatory and resources without expertise need not apply

  • Frontend:

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES2020+)

  • Production experience with React (hooks, context, component architecture)

  • Experience building responsive, accessible user interfaces (WCAG 2.2 Level AA)

  • Familiarity with modern frontend build tooling (e.g., Vite, webpack)

  • Backend:

  • Backend development with Node.js and Express (middleware, routing, error handling)

  • Experience designing and consuming GraphQL APIs (schema design, resolvers,

  • queries/mutations)

  • Solid understanding of SQL (joins, indexing, query optimization) with relational databases

  • (e.g., PostgreSQL, Azure SQL

  • Technical Skills

  • Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related equivalent field degree, nodejs,react.js,javascript,graphql

They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.
