Job description
Tech Breakdown
- Windows Server / Active Directory / Microsoft 365 / Intune
- Linux (Red Hat / Ubuntu / Debian) / Docker / AWS ECS & EC2
- PowerShell / Python / Power Automate / CloudWatch / Datadog
Daily Responsibilities
- ~50% Windows and Linux infrastructure administration and troubleshooting
- ~25% Automation development and infrastructure monitoring
- ~25% Tier 2/3 escalation support, change management, and documentation
Requirements
This is a solid infrastructure role for someone who genuinely likes owning hard problems. You won't be watching dashboards someone else built, you'll be designing the alerting, writing the automations, and serving as the escalation point when things get complex. The environment is broad by design: Windows and Linux, on-prem and cloud, identity and containers. If you're a systems engineer who gets energized by depth over breadth and wants a role where your technical judgment is actually trusted, this one is worth a look. The company is stable, well-established, and genuinely invested in its technology team., * Deep hands-on experience with Active Directory Domain Services - GPO authoring, replication troubleshooting, OUs, sites and services
- Strong Windows Server generalist skills (2019/2022); experience with patching, event monitoring, and failover clustering
- Strong Linux administration background across multiple distributions; comfortable troubleshooting at the OS level (systemd, networking, storage, permissions, logs)
- Ability to design and build workflow automations using PowerShell and/or Python - building solutions from scratch, not just modifying existing scripts
- Broad Microsoft 365 administration experience across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools; able to build dashboards and alerting (CloudWatch and/or Datadog preferred)
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Intune - policy management, compliance baselines, and application deployment
- Experience with containerized Linux workloads (Docker, ECS/Fargate)
- Familiarity with ITSM processes - change management, incident management, and documentation
- Relevant certifications a plus: AWS SysOps Administrator (SOA-C02), MS-102, CompTIA Security+, or LFCS
