Job description

  • You will install, configure, and maintain servers/VMs and Linux operating systems (Debian, Ubuntu, etc.).
  • You will use a configuration management and automation tool to manage servers, enforce system configurations, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • You will monitor system performance and uptime.
  • You will apply security patches and software updates.
  • You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • You will manage backups, disaster recovery, and data integrity.
  • You will support network infrastructure alongside the network administrators.
  • You will support databases alongside DBAs.
  • You will enforce security policies and compliance.
  • You will be handling on-call duty every couple of weeks.

  • Work experience of at least 7 years as a Linux systems administrator.

  • Experience in the following areas: Linux administration (Debian, Ubuntu); virtualization (e.g. Xen); scripting; web servers and application servers (Apache, Tomcat, HA Proxy); storage systems (e.g. GlusterFS), configuration management and automation (e.g. Puppet).

  • Knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL, MariaDB incl. Galera Cluster, PostgreSQL)

  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.

  • A great team player mentality and excellent people skills.

The minimum salary for this position, according to the Austrian collective bargaining agreement, is EUR 3954,00 per month for a full-time employment. Depending on professional experience and/or qualifications, your actual salary is intended to be significantly higher.
