Job description
The Digital Systems Architect is responsible for the structural design of the vehicle's E/E (electrical/electronic) system architecture and ensures that all vehicle functions-including the logical architecture derived from the functional design, as well as software, assemblies, and communication-are consistently allocated and integrated. This is where the specifications for the individual assemblies are developed for further development.
- Defining the vehicle's overall E/E architecture in coordination with the platform architect
- Structuring the assembly and component architecture, communication architecture, and power architecture
- Defining and modeling the technical and physical architecture using SysML and in accordance with the Rheinmetall architecture framework
- Allocation of the logical architecture to the subassemblies within the physical architecture
- Modeling of the interfaces, data flow (network protocols), and IT infrastructure of all E/E subassemblies of the entire vehicle, resulting in the creation of the E/E topology
- Integration of safety, cybersecurity, and EMC requirements, as well as systemic latency requirements and load management for the assemblies, into the E/E architecture
- Trade-off analysis and, if necessary, architecture decisions in collaboration with the platform architect
- Preparation of specifications for the respective assemblies
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Experience in systems engineering, system requirements, and MBSE for mechatronic products
- Experience with vehicle development using the V-model and E/E architecture is a plus
- Experience using DOORS Classic, PREE-Vision, and Rhapsody
- Experience in SysML modeling and top-down system design
- Experience with centralized vs. distributed architectures, as well as domain, zone, and centralized architectures
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ISO 15288
- Very good written and spoken German and good written and spoken English
- Strong analytical and systemic thinking across domains
- Ability to abstract complex systems, structure architectures, and reduce complexity
