Job description
- Working closely with our product manager, engineers, and stakeholders to understand real-world needs and translate them into working software.
- Building and improving our internal tools using Ruby on Rails and related technologies.
- Making iterative improvements to our monolith while contributing to the development of new features to support our rapidly expanding curated range of products.
- Writing clear, tested, secure, maintainable code and participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality solutions.
- Exploring new ideas and opportunities to improve our monolith and workflows.
- Helping to shape our technical decisions by sharing your ideas and contributing to discussions about architecture, tooling, and best practices.
- Contributing to technical discussions and helping ensure our solutions align with our technical strategy and business goals.
- Collaborating with your squad to deliver work in small, valuable increments - using agile practices and modern tooling.

Requirements
- You are a Ruby developer (2+ years of experience) with good knowledge of Ruby on Rails in a production environment and are keen to keep growing your expertise.
- You have experience working with RESTful APIs, version control tools such as GitHub, and testing tools like RSpec.
- You're curious about how things work - whether it's diving into a new tool, exploring performance improvements, or figuring out how real-world problems translate into code.
- You want to work in a kind, inclusive, and supportive environment where people care about their work and each other.
It would be great if...
- You have experience working in a fast-growing (preferably consumer-facing) startup / scaleup.
- You have experience of distributed service architectures, including how best to test and release them, and how to ensure system stability when making changes independent of other services.
