Job description
The Sr. Software Engineer serves as the technical lead and architecture authority for the full U.S. Consumer Product Safety Risk Management System (CPSRMS) application suite - CPSC360, Business Portal, Public Portal (SaferProducts.gov), Section15, Web API, and the Data Repository/Warehouse. Owns architecture and design decisions, holds release technical sign-off authority, and is the primary technical point of contact., * Lead systems and data architecture, design, and technical direction across all CPSRMS components.

Own technical sign-off on releases: code quality, integration testing, deployment readiness, and production stability.

Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex defects and security vulnerabilities.

Evaluate and recommend GOTS, COTS, cloud-based, and emerging-technology solutions that minimize custom development and operational complexity.

Demonstrate - within the ~6-week knowledge-transfer window - the ability to build and deploy applications through dev/test environments into pre-production and production.

Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and development teams on integration, releases, and schedules.

Support development of required security documentation (SSP, SAR, contingency plans, POA&Ms) and NIST SSDF self-attestation / SBOM generation.

Provide technical mentorship and code-review oversight for the development team.
Provide technical input to release planning, risk identification, and change-control board submissions.
Requirements
Do you have experience in XML?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or technically related field, · Minimum of 8 years of experience in computer science or software development at the enterprise level.

Expert-level Microsoft .NET Framework and .NET Core (backend services, APIs, enterprise application development).

Angular front-end development.

SQL Server (Database Engine, SSIS, Service Broker) and T-SQL.

Elasticsearch / Lucene search architecture.

Redis distributed caching.

IIS and Windows Server administration.

Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS, Azure Well-Architected Framework, Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps (Boards, CI/CD pipelines, build/release management), DevSecOps practices.

Object-Oriented Design and Test-Driven Development.

JavaScript, JSON, HTML, XML.

Demonstrated technical leadership on enterprise or federal system O&M / modernization engagements.
Working knowledge of SDLC governance, Section 508 accessibility, and NIST security standards. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience leading O&M or modernization for a federal civilian agency system.

Experience migrating legacy .NET Framework applications toward .NET Core / cloud-native architectures.

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate).
