Job description
We are seeking an expert-level Senior Database Administrator to oversee the end-to-end administration of complex Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance across both on-premises and AWS cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can bridge the gap between traditional database management and modern cloud automation., Multi-Platform Administration: Lead the installation, configuration, patching, and migration of Oracle and PostgreSQL systems, with supporting knowledge of SQL Server. Cloud Architecture & Migration: Manage and support AWS RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and Aurora instances. Implement automation using CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, and
Terraform/CloudFormation. Performance Tuning: Diagnose and resolve complex performance issues involving SQL tuning, indexing strategies, AWR, OEM, and cloud-native monitoring tools. High Availability & DR: Architect and maintain robust HA/DR solutions, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and multi-AZ replication. Develop and test comprehensive failover procedures. Security & Compliance: Enforce strict database security standards, including encryption, auditing, and vulnerability remediation, ensuring alignment with corporate data retention policies. Automation & Scripting: Reduce operational overhead by automating repetitive tasks using Python, Shell scripting, or PL/SQL. Production Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting for critical production incidents and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for mission-critical systems. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior DBAs and partner with DevOps teams to design scalable, cloud-ready data solutions.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 8+ years of Senior DBA experience across Oracle and PostgreSQL. Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in RMAN, pgBackRest, and AWS Backup strategies. Cloud Proficiency: Deep experience in AWS ecosystems (RDS, Aurora, Systems Manager, KMS). Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Communication: Ability to translate complex technical root-cause analysis into actionable documentation for stakeholders.
