Junior Software Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with C++ experience and background to be a part of the team that supports the Department of the Air Force advanced air platform testing and rapid development. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone with a strong interest in simulation or defense-related protocols (OMS, GRID, DIS, STANAG) looking for a fast past, on the edge development work., Required:

• Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Experience: 1 to 3 years of programming and/or development skills

• Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance

• Experience with CI/CD systems, integration, and security: (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)

• Exposure to containerization: (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience: working with backend logic structures such as behavior or decision trees

• Proficiency in: TypeScript and Vue for frontend development

• Proven ability to: fix bugs and implement small to medium features on both frontend and backend

Desired:

• Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and intrateam communication skills

• Improving the system: Excellent problem-solving skills

• Experience: Websocket-based real-time data pipelines

• Domain Experience or interest: Basic understanding of aircraft dynamics, tactical reasoning, or similar technical domains

• Strong full-stack debugging skills across C++, databases, APIs, and Vue components

• Security Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
