Job description
Serves as Operations Supervisor for systems in the computer Data center to ensure maximum availability of IS infrastructure. The IS infrastructure is critical to the operation of the SPR. Daily operations and drawdown systems are now automated and rely heavily on the IS infrastructure being operational, making this position critical to meeting mission support requirements. Supervise team of Network Engineers and Distributes work assignments to team members and provides guidance and coordinations of effort. Monitors completion and evaluates the quality of work performed. Ensures effective project management of IS projects that affect the overall productivity of the SPR work force, from the requirements phase through the implementation phase to ensure operational needs are met. Responsible for all network hardware and software, interacts with vendors and other Data Systems departments to resolve technical issues to ensure that systems meet the operational requirements for functional departmental use. Performs configuration management functions for all network resources by maintaining network drawing and documentation. Configuration management allows for effective problem resolution and impact analysis of changes to the infrastructure. Participates in departmental budget formulation and execution to ensure IS budget is managed per IS long range plan as submitted to DOE. Proposes, evaluates and participates in the procurement process for information systems hardware and software. Makes final technical decisions on best of breed solutions for IS projects. Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, REQUIRED: Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 10 years of network experience OR HS Diploma and 12 years of networking experience. DESIRED: A strong understanding of the following technologies: Server virtualization, Microsoft Domain administration. Microsoft M365 cloud services. Modern device management. Windows and Linux Server administration. PowerShell scripts (write and troubleshoot). Citrix infrastructure administration. Cisco networking CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES Based on the assigned duties of the position the incumbent may be required to maintain a US security clearance.
