Java/Spark Fullstack Developer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Java/React Developer for a right to hire assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Rutherford, NJ., * Specializing in Java/Spark Full Stack is a senior technical role responsible for leading end-to-end application development initiatives, from dynamic front-end interfaces to robust back-end services and large-scale data processing solutions.

• Provides hands-on leadership in building scalable, high-performance applications leveraging Java for core services and Apache Spark for data analytics, while guiding teams and influencing architecture, technology choices, and best practices across the full stack.
• Lead the design and development of complex full-stack applications, integrating modern frontend frameworks with Java-based backend services and Apache Spark for data processing and analytics.
• Own end-to-end delivery of application components, including user interface, business logic, data persistence, and data pipeline implementation, from design through deployment.
• Drive architectural decisions for both transactional systems and analytical data solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Resolve high-impact technical challenges across frontend, backend, and data processing layers, optimizing for efficiency and reliability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level full-stack developers, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and promoting a culture of technical excellence.
• Partner with product owners, business analysts, and data scientists to define system enhancements, translate complex requirements into technical designs, and deliver strategic full-stack solutions.
• Ensure high code quality, performance optimization, and scalability of applications and data pipelines, particularly for large datasets processed with Spark.
• Lead testing strategies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and deployment processes for integrated full-stack and data solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with governance, security, and data privacy regulations across the application stack.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7-10+ years of experience in full-stack application development.
• Advanced expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture for backend development.
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark (Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, PySpark/Scala) for large-scale data processing, ETL, and analytics.
• Proficiency with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., Angular, React, Vue.js).
• Strong experience with API design (RESTful/GraphQL), database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), and distributed systems.
• Experience with big data ecosystem components (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Databricks, AWS EMR, Google Cloud Platform Dataflow).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (preferred), and DevOps practices for full-stack deployments.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, define architectural patterns, and mentor cross-functional development teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
