Job description

  1. About the Opportunity: The Staff Software Engineer - Content Platform role is focused on leading the development and evolution of the Content Platform team responsible for critical services and core data models that power key user experiences such as feeds, posting, commenting, and voting. This position impacts the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the platform, shaping its future direction and supporting continued growth., * Lead development efforts within the Content Platform.
  • Design, develop, and deliver software to improve system availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency using Go and occasionally Python.
  • Analyze and enhance the codebase of multiple services including legacy systems.
  • Implement complex system-level improvements and modifications.
  • Drive the design and evolution of the platform to support long-term scale and growth.
  • Identify design gaps and lead platform redesign initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other engineers across infrastructure and product teams.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to integrate storage capabilities within broader infrastructure.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to backend engineers company-wide.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in building internet-scale software or distributed systems.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with high-scale platform services and API design.
  • Proven technical leadership and ability to guide engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity or interest in Kubernetes, gRPC, Cassandra, TiDB, and Redis is beneficial.

  1. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
  • Base salary range: $217,000 to $303,900 USD.
  • Eligibility for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
  • Potential eligibility for commissions depending on the position.
