Job description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Operations Engineer to own the end-to-end reliability of our mission-critical data integration and processing platforms. This role is the "final line of defense" for complex production systems that handle high-volume data ingestion, transformation, and enterprise-wide distribution. You will act as a technical authority, ensuring that our data-heavy applications remain performant, accurate, and compliant. The ideal candidate is an expert in Unix/Oracle environments who can troubleshoot deep-stack performance issues, optimize automated data workflows, and bridge the gap between technical operations and business-critical data availability., Production Operations & Integration End-to-End Reliability: Own the operational health of mission-critical platforms, including ingestion, transformation, aggregation, and publishing workflows. Complex Troubleshooting: Lead the investigation and resolution of critical data-quality issues, system defects, and integration failures. Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on production outages and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Pipeline Optimization: Configure, performance-tune, and optimize high-volume processing rules, batch schedules, and complex dependencies to ensure timely data delivery to downstream stakeholders and warehouses. Systems Integration: Oversee the integrity of integrations between our primary data platform and broader enterprise systems (CIS, Analytics, Data Warehousing).
Engineering & Compliance Technical Governance: Develop and maintain high-quality system documentation, operational runbooks, and standardized performance metrics. Release & Test Cycles: Execute comprehensive test cycles (functional, performance, and operational readiness) for all system changes, patches, and defect fixes. Regulatory Compliance: Manage the system within a SOX-regulated environment, ensuring strict adherence to access controls, audit logging, and formal change-management protocols.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux and Oracle applications, with a proven history of 24/7 production-level application support. Technical Mastery: oExpert-level SQL/PL/SQL (query tuning, performance troubleshooting, and complex data validation). oProven experience supporting enterprise-grade Oracle WebLogic environments. oHands-on proficiency in Python and Unix/Shell scripting for automation and operational reporting. Communication: Ability to distill complex technical failures into clear, concise updates for executive-level leadership.
Preferred Attributes Experience supporting mission-critical batch processing and time-sensitive data flows. Familiarity with enterprise workload automation tools (e.g., UC4 or similar schedulers). Experience with large-scale digital transformations or enterprise data migrations. Deep understanding of audit logging and data integrity within highly regulated corporate environments.
