Job description
Reporting to the Director of Advancement Systems, the Advancement Systems Analyst serves as a key administrator and functional expert for the Advancement office's constituent relationship management (CRM) system, supporting alumni, donor, and constituent records for the University. Responsible for managing data requests, supporting data needs of Advancement events and communications, developing and maintaining online forms and reporting solutions, and promoting effective utilization of the Slate for Advancement platform. The role also coordinates user training and support initiatives, identifies opportunities to improve business processes, and collaborates with Advancement staff to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and adherence to best practices. This is a full time, benefits-eligible position ; remote work within approved states will be considered with travel to campus one week a quarter, or as operationally needed. Generous benefits include health, retirement, considerable time off and access to multiple tuition programs for employees and dependents., * Data Requests, Event Support, and Slate Configuration; serve as the primary resource for fulfilling data requests by creating and delivering queries for constituent lists, data extracts, and other information needed by Advancement staff and university stakeholders; configure and support Advancement events within Slate, including event setup, registration, attendee tracking, and post-event reporting; support the Slate phonathon and student calling program by developing and maintaining calling lists and queries for caller assignments to facilitate effective donor and alumni outreach; create, test, and maintain online forms within Slate, including event registration forms, donation forms, surveys, and other external and internal facing forms, while ensuring data quality and adherence to institutional standards
- Training and User Support; coordinate and deliver a comprehensive training program for Slate users, including onboarding and new-hire training; plan and facilitate ongoing learning opportunities for current staff through workshops, demonstrations, and topic-focused training sessions; develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and best-practice resources to support effective use of Slate; serve as a resource for users by providing guidance on Slate functionality, processes, reporting, and system best practices; participate in professional development activities to maintain expertise in Slate and new features, advancement services, data management, and higher education best practices; represent the department through participation in conferences, webinars, user groups, and other professional learning opportunities; perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of Advancement Services and institutional priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education, experience and accomplishment may substitute
- Minimum of three years related experience; running a CRM and using/writing SQL, CSS or JavaScript
- Understanding of fundamental Database Management System (DBMS) concepts and exposure to at least one relational DBMS: Slate for Advancement, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MyS
- Knowledge of industry best practices, tax and IRS regulations related to charitable contributions
- Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, professionalism, maturity, and strong organizational skills.
