Job description

Location: Brookfield, WI (On-site, Remote) - Must be willing to travel to Brookfield, WI office as needed and travel nationwide for meetings, conferences, and team events., Join Milliman IntelliScript, a business unit within Milliman, Inc., as a Software Engineer on the R&D team. Drive early-stage innovation by transforming ideas into working solutions, developing MVPs, testing concepts, and iterating based on real user feedback. Focus on identifying product-market fit and shaping new offerings for long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and iterate on MVPs, prototypes, and early-stage solutions
  • Rapidly test ideas with lightweight implementations for user feedback
  • Translate ambiguous problem spaces into tangible technical solutions
  • Refine concepts through experimentation, data, and user insights
  • Build and deploy solutions primarily within AWS using cloud-native services
  • Experiment with AI-driven approaches for faster delivery and product features
  • Work within small, cross-functional teams to validate new ideas
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to gather feedback
  • Balance speed and quality with appropriate engineering practices
  • Contribute to technical decisions enabling fast iteration and scalability

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with C# (.NET 8), React, SQL
  • Cloud development experience, preferably AWS
  • Understanding of Agile practices (e.g., Scrum)
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle
  • Excellent technical design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Strong collaborative and analytical skills, * Experience with HIPAA and/or PCI regulations
  • SaaS environment experience
  • Domain-driven design experience
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven patterns
  • AWS certifications or deep AWS experience
  • Test-driven development (TDD) experience
  • Experience with GenAI or emerging technologies
  • Healthcare data or Health IT experience
  • Experience with clinical informatics or medical claims/electronic health record data

Overall Salary Range: $78,800 - $199,065, * Medical, Dental, Vision (including dependents and domestic partners)
