Job description
Lead Data Scientist (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ):
Develop and implement data science methods for prediction and optimization of business processes, including using statistical modeling, programming languages, and cloud-based technologies. Perform explorative analysis, anomaly detection survival analysis, segmentation, prediction and recommendation systems using graph data science algorithms, logistic regression, decision trees/forests, boosted models, clustering, and Generative AI. Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary and internal data sources using multiple tools. Model large structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., financial transactions, annuities / insurance / investment data, time-series, text, speech/audio, image, IT systems logs, documents). Oversee the creation, implementation, and delivery of an end-to-end technical solution for a data science project by being hands-on as well as by guiding junior staff. Follow the data science project lifecycle, closely engaging with other team members. Translate business data and problem statements to suitable methods and evaluate the fit. Prepare and present written and verbal reports with complex statistical concepts to non-analytical stakeholders to articulate business value. Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholder. Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, and demonstrated technical leadership in making decisions and applying theory to practice on a day-to-day basis in business context, anticipating roadblocks, and representing the technical side of the engagements.
Requirements
3 years of related work experience
Minimum Education Required
Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

Python, Pandas, and Scikit-learn;

Databases PL/SQL;

Shell scripting;
-
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud;

Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms; and
-
Machine Learning Algorithms Implementation, including training, testing, validation, and performance evaluation.
Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

Statistics; and
-
Generative AI development and evaluation.
Domestic travel required up to 10%.
