Job description

  • Database Support - write complex SQL queries; troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines.
  • Cloud Computing - manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.
  • Release Management - oversee production changes affecting CIBC's SAS Viya AML platform, including bug fixes and version upgrades.
  • Service Continuity - perform disaster recovery tests.
  • Collaboration - build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.
  • Communication - express technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.
  • Continuous Learning - stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments.

Requirements

  • You possess 1-2 years of technical experience in application or production support within banking of financial services environment.
  • Experience with Linux virtual machines and command-line interface, writing SQL queries, and a technical understanding of cloud computing (preferably Azure) is required.
  • It is an asset if you bring experience or familiarity with SAS Viya and relevant certifications. CIBC encourages completion of the SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya exam, as well as relevant Microsoft Azure training.
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment., * You need to be legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified above and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
