Job description
The Senior Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, The Senior Application Architect:
Works with implementation of SaaS solutions
Assists with VPN and Firewall requests
Works with business partners around their intake processes and work within ServiceNow
Supports the design of proactive application security frameworks to ensure the secure architecture and development of business solutions. This includes frameworks for performing consistent application security assessments and threat models as well as the development of secure design patterns and development standards.
Proactively communicate design and development principles to appropriate stakeholders
Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications.
Proactively improve security designs to reduce vulnerabilities found after development of code
Influence stakeholders to correct security deficiencies in the solution design as well as developed code
Provide solutions to security deficiencies while allowing for necessary business and technical functionality
Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings.
Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications., As part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology called Modern Hire to enhance our hiring and decision-making ability. Work-At-Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Requirements
Implement security considerations for in house developed, COTS and SaaS solutions
Knowledge and experience with the configuration of security controls and secure migration of enterprise applications to one of the major cloud providers such as Azure (preferred), Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
Ability to communicate with developers, application architects and vendors
Experience translating technical concepts into plain language to show business risk
Experience implementing security considerations for in house developed SaaS solutions
Experience in following security functional areas: application security, identity and access management, vulnerability management.
Experience with agile software development methods
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience
7 or more experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
Prior project architect and/or team lead experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
Minimum of 3 years in the following security functional areas: application security, authentication and authorization, identity and access management, dynamic application security testing, static application security testing, data security, security monitoring or SSO/2FA security, vulnerability management.
Advanced knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to deploying cloud native and multi-cloud applications and infrastructure
Cloud development and design
Familiarity with application vulnerability scanning tools
Automation and standardization of software security controls
CISSP, CISM or equivalent
Cloud Architecture and/or Cloud Security Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
