Join a leading manufacturer of commercial shelving and rack units as a Controls Engineering Specialist. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the new automation processes for a cutting-edge shelving line. With our recent expansion, you'll be at the forefront of integrating state-of-the-art automated equipment in our facility.
Responsibilities
- Modify and program new equipment, troubleshoot, and debug Fanuc robotic welding equipment.
- Spend 80% of your time on the manufacturing floor, working hands-on with HMI's, PLC's, and robotics.
- Dedicate 20% of your time to office support, including ordering parts, handling funding requests, performing clerical duties, and creating basic drawings.
- Develop, modify, and optimize Fanuc robot programs for welding.
- Perform robot teaching, touch-ups, and recovery in both active production and pre-commissioning environments.
- Support rapid program adjustments and robot cell start-up.
- Troubleshoot robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic.
- Collaborate closely with Quality teams to resolve process issues and improve weld quality.
- Coordinate with controls teams to validate I/O, interlocks, and basic handshaking.
- Follow all safety procedures during programming and floor support.

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in troubleshooting and programming HMI, PLC's, and robotics.
- Strong ability to modify existing systems and occasionally develop from scratch.
- Experience in any industry, with a preference for robotic welding, Fanuc, or CNC.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology is beneficial.
- Experience with robotic welding and CNC is advantageous.
