Job description
- Analyse network architecture, performance and operational shortfalls
- Identify and document technical improvement actions
- Support the planning and implementation of network updates and changes
- Optimise routing across WAN and LAN environments
- Prepare, review and implement Cisco network device configurations
- Support technical decision-making with clear facts, figures and documentation
- Coordinate with network technicians, security experts, suppliers and contractors
- Improve network resilience, redundancy and high availability
- Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation
- Provide monthly progress reports covering completed tasks, achievements, risks, status and planning
- Implement and configure single-area and multi-area OSPF
- Configure BGP for external interconnections
- Implement DMVPN Phase 3 using NHRP redirects and shortcuts
- Configure Quality of Service on Layer 2 and Layer 3 Cisco devices
- Implement Layer 3 redundancy using VRRP, HSRP and GLBP
- Design and implement Virtual Routing and Forwarding
- Configure Network Address Translation
- Support redundant TACACS implementations using Cisco Identity Services Engine
Requirements
Are you a Senior Network Engineer with 8+ years of experience in wide area network design and deployment? Apply now for a long-term contract opportunity with a leading public sector client in Brussels., * 8+ years of relevant network engineering experience
- CCNP-level certification or equivalent
- Strong experience in the design, deployment, administration and operation of wide area networks
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco routers and switches
- Strong hands-on experience with OSPF (single-area and multi-area)
- Strong hands-on experience with BGP
- Strong hands-on experience with DMVPN and NHRP
- Strong hands-on experience with VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding)
- Strong hands-on experience with VPN technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with Layer 3 redundancy protocols (VRRP, HSRP, GLBP)
- Strong hands-on experience with NAT (Network Address Translation)
- Strong hands-on experience with QoS (Quality of Service) on Layer 2 and Layer 3 Cisco devices
- Strong hands-on experience with TACACS and Cisco Identity Services Engine
- Experience implementing network redundancy and high availability solutions
- Experience in complex, secure and business-critical network environments
- Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills
- Valid NATO Secret-level security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in IT, networking or a related field
- (Desirable) Experience in classified, governmental or defence-related environments
- (Desirable) Knowledge of security policies for classified networks
- (Desirable) Experience with MPLS
- (Desirable) Experience with IP cryptography devices
