Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to help design and govern the data foundations supporting a large-scale Non-Financial Risk (NFR) environment. You will work closely with Risk, Compliance, Data Governance, Architecture, and Technology teams to translate complex business and risk concepts into scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
This role focuses on building sustainable data structures that support reporting, governance, analytics, regulatory requirements, and future AI-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modelling
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Develop and evolve canonical models for key Non-Financial Risk concepts, including:
- Risks
- Controls
- Incidents
- Issues
- Action Plans
- Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Business Activities
- Ensure consistency across operational systems, data lakes, reporting platforms, and governance tools.
- Maintain coherent data architectures and data assets over time.
Business & Risk Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, risk experts, and IT teams.
- Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and define data solutions.
- Translate business terminology and risk management concepts into reusable data structures.
- Build and maintain a common business vocabulary and data glossary.
- Act as the bridge between business users and technical teams.
Data Governance
- Support data governance initiatives including metadata, lineage, ownership, and traceability.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Contribute to the management of critical data elements and risk indicators.
- Create and maintain functional documentation and modelling standards.
Project & Delivery
- Plan and monitor project activities.
- Assess new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Define modelling best practices and design patterns.
- Support testing strategies and validate new developments and enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
- Strong expertise in data management, metadata, master data, governance, and data security.
- Solid understanding of data modelling methodologies and best practices.
- Experience working with Agile delivery environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams.

- Experience within one or more Non-Financial Risk domains:
- Operational Risk
- Compliance Risk
- IT Risk
- Information Security Risk
- Model Risk
- Third-Party Risk
- Fraud Risk
- Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra or similar.
- Knowledge of risk and control frameworks, KRIs, incidents, and controls management.
- Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based analytics environments.
