Job description
Accountable for delivering procurement results in support of the Innovative Medicine EMEA business strategy. The role partners with EMEA commercial leadership and procurement category teams to execute sourcing strategies, lead procurement initiatives, and manage supplier relationships across multiple markets.
The focus is on driving execution excellence at scale across EMEA , ensuring alignment between global category strategies and regional business needs, while embedding procurement into key business priorities and decision-making forums.
The role operates within an Agile Procurement model , leading critical sourcing projects and initiatives across multiple markets, and acting as a key connector between business stakeholders, category teams, and Global Services.
In addition, the role requires strong engagement with senior stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies are understood, adopted, and deliver measurable business impact, including value delivery, efficiency improvements, and supplier performance., Scope of responsibilities includes:
- Understand EMEA Innovative Medicine business priorities (including local OpCos and ESO) and translate these into procurement-led initiatives
- Partner with Procurement Category Leaders to adapt and deploy global strategies to EMEA market realities
- Bring subject matter expertise in marketing procurement, including agencies, data & analytics, marketing operations, and distributor services, to shape sourcing strategies, challenge demand, and optimize supplier ecosystems in line with EMEA business priorities
- Engage senior EMEA business stakeholders to ensure alignment, adoption, and impact of procurement strategies
- Identify regional market trends, supplier dynamics, and innovation opportunities to enhance category strategies
- Lead complex, multi-market sourcing events, negotiations, and strategic projects across EMEA
- Drive delivery of procurement targets (savings, value, compliance, supplier performance) across assigned scope
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Agile Procurement operating model, including ways of working with Global Services and category teams
- Serve as country / market procurement lead for assigned markets, acting as the primary interface between Procurement and the local business, ensuring business priorities are understood and effectively supported across Marketing, Business Services, and CCFS spend areas
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
- Experience: 5-7+ years of procurement experience, ideally in complex, multi-country environments
- Industry Experience: Pharmaceutical / life sciences strongly preferred
Skills
- Strong procurement execution and sourcing expertise, including complex negotiations
- Proven ability to operate as a market-facing procurement lead / business partner
- Experience working across multiple markets and stakeholder groups in EMEA
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including senior leadership interaction
- Ability to translate business priorities into procurement delivery across multiple spend areas
- Solid project leadership with ability to manage parallel priorities across markets
- Strong collaboration across category teams, Agile teams, and Global Services
- Strong business acumen, linking procurement outcomes to business impact
