An exciting opportunity for Systems Administrators to join an innovative stealth start-up in Saffron Walden, who are tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges. Joining a company founded by experts in their field, who have already realised success with other start-ups, this offers the chance to support the infrastructure in an environment filled with technological innovation., * Set up, manage, and maintain Linux server environments, ensuring optimal performance and high availability.
- Apply security best practices across all systems, performing regular audits and updates.
- Support devices on Windows and macOS, ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
- Develop centralised administration processes to improve efficiency and control.
- Automate workflows using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Work closely with development teams to deploy and manage applications and services.
- Maintain a focus on standardisation and precision in system configurations and documentation.
Requirements
Our client values those with absolute top academics - therefore, requires a 2.1 or 1st from internationally renowned university and all A's at A-Level (or international equivalent).
Due to the nature of some client projects, you must be willing and eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance. This generally requires a long-term UK residency history (typically 10+ years) and the ability to pass government security vetting. You can join the team and work on other commercial projects while your clearance application is progressing., * Commercial experience with either Windows or Linux Server Administration (opportunities available on both sides)
- Degree educated with good academics
- Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive nature in asking questions to expand your knowledge
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- Understanding of networking protocols and security protocols
- Any experience with macOS environments and their administration would be helpful
- You must be in a position to qualify for SC Clearance due to the nature of some projects
- A full UK driving licence is ideal
