Job description

We are looking for a confident Project Manager to manage customer software product implementation projects and a portfolio of internal business projects. We need someone with strong project management fundamentals, sound judgement, and the confidence to bring pace, structure and accountability to important work. The role sits close to customers, product, software delivery and business leadership, and will have a direct impact on how we deliver important projects across the business. You will support, and be supported by, a well-established and experienced team at all levels of the business.

This role does not include line management responsibility, but it does require the ability to manage delivery teams through influence, clarity and persistence. This is an excellent opportunity best suited to a Project Manager looking to build on their experience and progress their career., * Plan and manage software product implementation projects for new customer contracts.

  • Own project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Coordinate activity across product, software, commercial, customer success, support and delivery teams.
  • Act as a customer-facing project lead during implementations, providing clear communication on progress, responsibilities, risks and next steps.
  • Manage a portfolio of internal projects and initiatives, ensuring ownership, priorities and delivery status are clear.
  • Track progress against time, cost and scope, and intervene when projects are drifting.
  • Raise blockers early and drive action to remove them.
  • Hold people accountable for actions and deadlines while maintaining constructive working relationships.
  • Provide clear, practical reporting to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Help improve project management discipline across the business without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of software product implementation and project management capabilities.
  • Educated to degree-level or equivalent.
  • Relevant project management qualification or certification, such as APM or equivalent.
  • Experience managing software product implementation and delivery projects.
  • Strong project planning, governance, risk management, stakeholder management and reporting skills.
  • Experience working with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to be clear, direct and commercially aware.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams at the same time.

Desirable experience

  • Scrum Master or Engineering Management experience around software products management.
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS software environment.
  • Experience working with offshore engineering or delivery teams.
  • Experience working with public-sector customers or contracts.
  • Experience in implementation consulting or customer delivery.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working.

What we need from you

We need someone proactive, adaptable, and delivery-focused. You should be able to work at pace, bring structure to complex work, and keep people focused on the outcome.

You will need to strike the right balance between process and flexibility. We want good project management discipline but not process for its own sake. The right person will be biased towards results, outcomes and practical delivery.

You should be comfortable challenging people when needed. That may mean pushing for decisions, escalating risks, chasing actions or having difficult conversations whilst also maintaining positive relationships.

You will also need to understand how to work with customers: professional, clear, calm under pressure, and commercially aware.

Benefits & conditions

We offer a competitive salary, and our comprehensive benefits package (including 25 days' annual leave, matched pension, life assurance cover, group income protection, healthcare cash back scheme, support for professional memberships and study) is designed to help you thrive personally and professionally.
