Job description

Our client, a well-established and market-leading manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving asset reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and influencing maintenance strategy across a complex production operation.

Working closely with maintenance, production, and quality teams, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This position offers the chance to combine hands-on engineering expertise with data-driven decision-making and long-term reliability planning.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing reliability and asset management strategies.
  • Driving equipment performance improvements and reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Leading root cause analysis investigations and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Enhancing preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Analysing maintenance and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting the introduction of condition monitoring techniques and reliability best practices.
  • Working cross-functionally to optimise plant performance and maximise asset availability.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Coaching and supporting engineering teams in reliability-focused methodologies.

Requirements

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Reliability Engineer or similar position.
  • A strong background within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience of reliability-centred maintenance, FMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret maintenance and performance data.
  • A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, HNC, HND).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for driving operational excellence.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a successful and growing organisation that is committed to investing in its people, engineering capability, and manufacturing operations. You will have the autonomy to influence reliability strategy, implement improvements, and contribute directly to business performance while developing your own career in a supportive environment.

If you are an ambitious engineering professional with a passion for reliability and continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you.
