Job description

  • Lead an Ops team and an Engineering team as we transition them into a combined DevOps function
  • Manage the ongoing development and maintenance of our core product
  • Work with our CTO and other technical teams to break up the product and migrate it to a modern cloud stack
  • Oversee the integration of teams and the change associated with the new operating model
  • Support the migration of services from legacy platforms to cloud environments
  • Retrain developers and sysops as part of the transformation
  • Progress the long-term goal of owning the core product and DevOps team in the modern environment

  • ASP.NET, We are offering a permanent Senior Engineering Manager opportunity at the heart of a major transformation within our legacy engineering team. Our core product is mission critical and generates most of our revenue, and it is currently built on Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS and .NET/web application stacks. This is a hybrid role based in Surrey, with one office day per week, and the salary is around £90,000 to £100,000 base. The role offers the chance to shape our future DevOps capability and lead the migration of our products to a modern cloud environment.

Requirements

  • Experience managing both Operations and Engineering teams, with the ability to combine them into a single DevOps function
  • Strong background leading significant technical and organisational change
  • Experience working with legacy application and infrastructure environments, including Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, and .NET/web application stacks
  • Ability to support migration from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms
  • Experience retraining teams and guiding developers and sysops through transition
  • Ability to work collaboratively with CTOs and other technical teams
  • Willingness to work hybrid, with one day per week in the Surrey office
