Job description
UST is searching for a System Validation Engineer who will execute validation test cases (manual and automated) across hardware, BIOS, firmware, OS, and drivers.
The opportunity:

Set up and configure systems including motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage, and peripherals

Develop and run Python-based scripts for test automation, log parsing, and data validation

Collect and analyze BIOS and OS logs; perform debugging and issue triage
-
Validate system components such as DDR4/DDR5, storage (HDD/SSD), and hardware interfaces
-
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows/Linux/VMware)
-
Log and track defects in bug tracking tools; follow through to closure

Support system bring-up, rack setup, cabling, and lab maintenance

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field

Strong understanding of computer hardware, system architecture, and components

Good knowledge of BIOS, firmware, OS, drivers, and system-level concepts

Hands-on exposure to Linux environments (SSH, command line, tools)

Strong Python programming skills for scripting, automation, and problem-solving

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment

UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below., Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
