Core Java developer

Immediate need for a talented Core Java developer with experience in the IT Industry. This is a 6+ Months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Washington, DC. Please review the job description below., * The successful candidate will be responsible for working as part of REX Engineering team on the features of cable meta data aggregation per the requirements as specified, conduct unit and integration testing and coordinating the release process for each sprint.

• The REX data is a back end system which consumes all cable meta data, compute availability, aggregate data and build Indexes and other in-memory data structures to support Content navigation and Discovery services (Search & Browse Functionalities) in X1 STBs, Mobile & tv.xfinity.com.

• 5+ years of application development experience.
• Strong Core Java development experience including Java 8 Streams, Collections, Threads and Exceptions.
• Developing and debugging in an IDE such as Eclipse or Intellij IDEA, configuring, building, and deploying Java applications using Maven application of object oriented design and design patterns.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong Linux skills including comfort in developing and debugging in a Linux environment, familiarity with Linux shell commands, experience with ssh/scp and working in remote environments.
