Job description
The Director of Digital Ads is the strategic and technical engine behind how our creative work reaches the world. You will serve as the director for all paid media (Meta, Google, TikTok), managing campaigns for Bennett Creative and our 20-30 active clients. This is a new-ish vertical for us. Although some processes are already in place, we will be relying on you to build out our digital ads offering from a small side-service into a robust tentpole for our business.
We are looking for a director-level hire OR a ready-to-be-director-level hire who has experience handling a couple dozen accounts at once.
Because video and social media is at the core of what we do, you will work closely with our production and post-production teams to ensure the assets we create are optimized for the platforms where they will live. You understand the strategy behind the spend and how to drive measurable ROI. You will also work closely with the social media department.
- Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Platform Execution: Build out, launch, monitor, and report on campaigns primarily across Meta and Google Ads, but increasingly across TikTok and LinkedIn, and other relevant digital platforms.
- Optimization: Perform daily and weekly optimizations, monthly and quarterly planning to improve performance. This includes A/B testing ad copy and creatives, adjusting keywords, and refining audience segmentation.
- Trend Analysis: Stay updated on the latest changes in digital advertising algorithms, privacy policies, and best practices to keep our agency ahead of the curve.
- Financial & Technical Ownership
- Budget Management: Ensure that ad spend budgets stay strictly in line with client approvals, actively managing a current collective annual spend of ~$1mil.
- Technical Setup: Handle all technical aspects of campaigns to ensure accurate data measurement. This includes setting up pixels, tracking conversions, managing Google Tag Manager, and building custom audiences.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive performance reports on a regular basis to demonstrate ROI and campaign health to the CEO and our clients.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Strategy Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the CEO and Social Media team to finalize campaign strategies, target audiences, and budget allocations before launch.
- Asset Coordination: Work seamlessly with the internal team of editors and designers to request and organize the specific video and graphic assets needed for your campaigns.
SUCCESS INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Client Retention: This is the ultimate performance metric. Are you delivering enough value to clients to renew their contracts?
- ROI & Performance: Client campaigns consistently meet or exceed target return on ad spend (ROAS) and cost-per-acquisition (CPA) goals.
- Budget Accuracy: 100% adherence to approved client ad spend budgets with zero instances of accidental overspend.
- Technical Reliability: All tracking pixels, tags, and conversion events are correctly tested and implemented prior to campaign launch, ensuring pristine data collection.

We just like making nice, creative marketing campaigns with nice, creative people., * Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on media buying and digital ad management in an agency or in-house environment.
- Platform Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and TikTok Ads.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Google Tag Manager, GA4, pixel implementation, and conversion API setups.
