Job description

We're looking for a SQL DBA / Data Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of data, applications, and systems. In this role, you'll play a key part in modernizing database environments, upgrading mission-critical systems, and supporting enterprise-level business applications. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll collaborate with technical teams, developers, and stakeholders while supporting systems critical to day-to-day operations. Daily Tasks:

  • Lead SQL Server upgrades from legacy environments to the latest versions 2022.
  • Install, configure, and optimize SQL Server across new infrastructure
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to upgrade third-party and custom applications
  • Develop and maintain custom applications, reports, and integrations
  • Support and maintain business applications (patching, upgrades, enhancements)
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Implement best practices for database and application deployment, testing, and migration
  • Provide production support and troubleshooting for critical systems
  • Perform root cause analysis and ensure timely issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, hosting, workplace services)
  • Manage and prioritize tickets, enhancements, and change requests

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred) 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or Data Engineer Hands-on experience with SQL Server disaster recovery solutions, such as:

  • Always On Availability Groups
  • Log Shipping
  • Failover Clustering
  • Database Mirroring

3+ years of application development experience using:

  • C#, .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented languages
  • Strong experience with SQL coding (T-SQL or similar)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex production issues
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable providing after-hours support when needed

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
