Job description
As a Lead Data Engineering Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and executing impactful data-drive projects: , managing both the concept and implementation of solutions while thinking about performance and scalability
- Shaping the technical development of the team: Foster growth within the team by mentoring and sharing best practices in data engineering.
- Expanding Artefact's technical footprint: Engage with tech communities, contribute to internal knowledge sharing, and stay ahead with industry trends.
- Collaborating cross-functionally: Work with consultants, data scientists, analysts, and engineers to identify client needs and craft end-to-end data solutions that drive business value.
- Communication excellence: Be a good communicator to be able to interact with both technical and business stakeholders
- Be an inspiring mentor: Lead training sessions and workshops, both internally and with our business partners, including Google and Microsoft, to enhance the team's data knowledge.
Requirements

Fluency in English is a must, bonus points for Dutch or French speakers

Academic level education (Master's) in a technical field.

4+ years experience in a data-driven environment with a proven history of translating business problems into technical solutions.

2+ years experience in mentoring technical talents

Strong drive to deliver production-worthy solutions efficiently

Willingness to learn and go beyond technical skills to develop strong soft skills (communication, leadership, storytelling) Strong Technical Background

Good knowledge of best practices with Python and SQL

Software engineer mindset with Design Patterns knowledge is a plus

Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, Databricks or AWS. Professional Certification is a plus

Proficient with various modern data storage solutions and concepts (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh …)

Experience with modern data tools (DBT, Airbytes, Prefect, Argo, Terraform …)

Proficient with automation (CI/CD, API-first).

Familiar with core concepts such as Data Modeling, Data Governance, Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, Security. Consulting and Project Management

Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and coach technical members.

Ability to anticipate project risks from the design phase and address them proactively.

Capable of anticipating risks and solving challenges efficiently.
