Senior Java Engineer

As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to dependable, scalable software that has a direct impact on the quality and continuity of digital services. You will work on complex backend solutions, help shape technical decisions, and support the team in delivering resilient systems. This role combines hands-on development with senior-level input on collaboration, quality, and technical direction. In this part-time position, you will make an impact on architecture, performance, and maintainability, while also helping other developers develop their skills.

At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role

• Strong knowledge of Java and standard backend principles
• Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases
• Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
• Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• HBO or WO level of thinking, preferably in Computer Science or a related field

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with micros.
