Job description
- We build, configure, and maintain Azure cloud environments across IaaS, PaaS, storage, networking, and identity services.
- We deploy and support Azure Landing Zones in line with enterprise architecture standards.
- We support the transition from IaaS to PaaS by designing and implementing cloud-native solutions.
- We monitor and manage cloud workloads to ensure availability, performance, and security.
- We implement infrastructure as code using Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, or similar tools.
- We automate provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of cloud resources using DevOps pipelines and scripts.
- We monitor system health, respond to incidents, and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- We enforce cloud security best practices, including RBAC, encryption, and secure networking.
- We support compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards by maintaining guardrails and policies.
- We contribute to cost optimisation by right-sizing resources and reducing waste.
- We use Azure Cost Management tools and dashboards to track and forecast cloud spend.
- We provide reporting and insights to the Cloud Operations Manager and Finance teams.
- We document standard operating procedures, cloud configurations, and runbooks.
- We work with infrastructure architects, data platform teams, developers, and project teams to support solution delivery.
- We act as an escalation point for cloud-related incidents and changes.
- We assist with service transitions, knowledge transfer, and training for BAU support teams.
- We support the implementation and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud infrastructure.
- We ensure cloud services are resilient and recoverable in line with RTO and RPO.
- We collaborate with the DR/BCP team to maintain and update recovery procedures and test plans.
- We recommend improvements and innovations based on emerging technologies and industry trends.

- IAM, We are recruiting for a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer in Durrington, Worthing on a hybrid basis. This is a permanent role working 37 hours per week with a salary circa 70K plus bonus. Requirements
- We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- We require extensive experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and PaaS/IaaS solutions.
- We require strong knowledge of landing zone architecture and best practices.
- We require proven experience defining and implementing cloud infrastructure standards and best practices.
- We require knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- We require proficiency with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- We require strong scripting skills, for example Python or PowerShell, and the ability to automate routine tasks and deployment processes.
- We require expertise in cloud security best practices, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS and NIST.
- We require strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and VPN configurations.
- We require an understanding of DevOps principles and the ability to integrate development and operations workflows.
- We require experience managing cloud costs, optimising spend, and applying FinOps principles.
- We require expert-level Microsoft Azure platform knowledge, including its services, features, and capabilities.
- We require the ability to scale cloud resources and optimise resource utilisation for cost effectiveness.
- We require strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- We require thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
