Job description
- In this pivotal role, you will contribute to data acquisition, preparation, and management projects, helping to modernize services and deliver secure, reliable data products at scale. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing robust, secure, and performant data integration solutions (batch and/or near-real-time).
- Building, operating, and improving data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, curation) with monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
- Collaborating with product teams and client stakeholders to refine requirements and align decisions to non-functional requirements (cost, performance, security).
- Supporting incident resolution and ensuring service continuity.
- Sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to our engineering communities of practice.
- Actively participating in Agile ceremonies and working cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, and business teams.

Requirements
- We are looking for candidates with strong knowledge in data engineering fundamentals and the ability to operate at all stages of the delivery lifecycle. An interest in learning and cross-skilling is essential. The essential skills and experience we seek include:
- Strong SQL and hands-on experience with data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tooling (at least one of Talend, Pentaho DI, Informatica, AWS Glue, or SAS).
- Experience with databases/data platforms, ideally Oracle or Cloudera.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- A solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including integration, transformation, orchestration, and version control.
- Excellent client-facing and consultancy skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- A strong drive to share knowledge, mentor, and develop others.
